Senior Engineer – Gasoline Tech Specialist:

Gasoline Products Development, write DVPR, summarize test data, run root cause analysis, support DFMEA creation, support Advance Manufacturing Development, interface with customers/suppliers on technical topics, analysis capability (FEA, CFD, 1D, Magnetics), Designing capability (Creo/Solidworks), GD&T and tolerance stack-ups analysis. Knowledge of Gasoline Fuel Components and Systems.

Must work onsite at Stanadyne Jacksonville plant.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems.
  • Coordinates with Director of Engineering/Design Lead the entire product life cycle of fuel systems concept development to manufacturing.
  • Coordinate the activities to follow the product from design through risk assessments and compliance to regulatory requirements.
  • Must be able to apply GD&T, perform tolerance & stack-up studies as needed.
  • Lead the step-by-step progress of the project and prepare detailed observation reports to ensure project conformity to initial design.
  • Assure product conformance through the creation of standard work and implementation of verification and validation processes.
  • Produce models and drawings consistent with product requirements, guidelines, and standards.
  • Coordinate and verify drawings for clarity and completeness through design review process.
  • Work collaboratively with internal customers (i.e. Manufacturing and Quality Engineers) or external customers (i.e. concept layout, installation prints release) to identify improvements to designs.
  • Work with suppliers to determine the best design practices and components.
  • May perform required calculations and analysis as necessary including stress analysis (FEA/CFM) to verify robustness, dimensioning, and tolerance to verify fit and form, design failure effect analysis (DFMEA) to predict potential failures before they occur, and design for manufacturability with direction from the Director of Engineering.
  • Provide Director of Engineering with the information necessary for customer meetings, and presentations to understand and define their needs.
  • Maintain project files and resource materials such as drawings, instruction manuals, test data, design criteria, and specifications.
  • Participates in the review of engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.
  • May recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and/or experience in designing and developing high precision components for Automotive Industry, fuel injectors and pumps would be preferred.
  • May work with customers to define and document requirements, address technical concerns, and provide project status.
  • Ability to make technical presentations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Project, Publisher, & Power Point).
  • Able to work with minimal supervision, alone and/or in cross-functional teams.
  • Good physics knowledge, Mechanical Engineering education and experience is preferred.
  • 4+ years’ experience with Pro-E/Creo CAD software including solid modeling.
  • PDM (Product Data Management) workflow process with Windchill or other.
  • tool design experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Exposure to electromagnetic/magnetic circuits
  • Understanding of CFD analysis

Education and/or Experience:

  • Preferred Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years related work experience (related Automotive Gasoline field experience)
