Duties and Responsibilities

The principal challenge for this position is to advance the use of new product/technology integration into the manufacturing process and continuously improve our capabilities to meet our customers’ dynamic needs for new products and faster manufacturability. This position will be responsible for enabling and expanding manufacturing capabilities of assigned processes/profiles to produce customer products at a high level of quality, while optimizing processing parameters. This role will be responsible for developing new manufacturing processes, procedures, protocols, and supporting systems to enable manufacturing to meet customer expectations and grow the business. The candidate must have background and work experience in manufacturing/continuous improvement projects, working within a team and influencing others.

The focus of this position during the early stages will be to learn the current condition of the assigned manufacturing processes and/or profiles. Once that is completed, this position will work with Operations, Maintenance and other Process Owners, to troubleshoot and improve the manufacturability of the product design(s) they are tasked with producing. This role will also be responsible for creating and developing a deployment /implementation strategy for new products and applications in manufacturing that affect his/her assigned processes/profiles.

1. Must be familiar with compression & injection molding technologies.

2. This role must be able to partner with, and problem solve with product designers when materials or design issues make the product difficult or impossible to produce without issues.

3. Methodology and procedures require imaginative approaches across a broad spectrum of opportunities.

4. The candidate will provide a strong base of knowledge and experience in molding technologies, implementation of known and unknown/untested technologies, and deployment of creative solutions.

5. The candidate also must provide the top “in-house” level of expertise on technology manufacturability and process improvement for their areas of responsibility and expertise.

6. The candidate is expected to provide support in the resolution of upset conditions in their area(s) of responsibility resulting in but not limited to the following: environmental/health/safety, downtime, scrap, reduced efficiencies, equipment issues and customer complaints.

7. This position requires imaginative approaches, using the application of known technology to resolve a broader range of current and unforeseen problems.

8. The position requires understanding the interactions between various processes and systems. This role will have to possess the ability to influence without control.

9. The ideal candidate will possess strong tactical and strategic planning skills, as well as the ability to quickly develop root cause analyses and solutions for current conditions.

10. This position requires that the candidate work effectively in a team environment.

11. This position requires process training experience and abilities to train the facility resources with the proper use of problem-solving techniques, quality tools and process related variables in order to achieve productivity targets.
