DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Awareness and compliance of all EHS and Quality systems. Provides leadership by example in all policies regarding safe practices and teamwork.
- Needs to have complete understanding of our eMaint CMMS software. The incumbent will be responsible for building reports and extracting data from eMaint on repeat issues, equipment issues requiring downtime and labor for data analysis and reported out to supervisor.
- Incumbent will be responsible for creating/modifying PM’s in eMaint.
- Understand and perform all production equipment and support equipment Preventative Maintenance activities.
- Analyze current PM’s to determine effectiveness.
- Track PM Benchmark times against actual and report out to supervisor.
- Track PM’s against corrective work orders to ensure the correctives trend downward.
- Communicate with Scheduling and Supervisors to help direct priorities.
- Be aware of hazardous materials in your area. Awareness will be achieved through training, SDS review, safety meetings, and toolbox meetings.
- Must follow all rules and comply with mandatory Job-Obs, IFE’s, IFO’s, Walkabouts, Monday Reports, Quality training, monthly awareness training and any required departmental training/projects on time without supervision.
- Be aware and understand emergency procedures and report all spills or other environmental incidents.
- Maintain all machinery and support equipment.
- Cope with unforeseen situations, i.e., problems with process, machine speeds, reoccurring defects, detection/correction of unsafe conditions, and detection/correction of machinery problem issues.
- Machine rebuilds/modifications and fabrication of all types. Also to support all departments, i.e., production, engineering, tool room, warehouse, quality, and EHS.
- Maintain a clean, safe and orderly working area and be accountable for your designated area of 5’s.
- Operate equipment to test its functioning and overall performance.
- Assume a leading role of all projects from the initial concept to completion. This would include all aspects of the project, i.e. compiling list of needed equipment and enter into eMaint CMMS software that may come with the project. This could also include working over and beyond a normal work day when needed.
- Operate hand tools and power tools, as needed.
- Be alert to and welcome new learning opportunities. Always trying to further his/her education/training.
- Must abide by and follow all procedures, i.e., LTTV, SOP’S, PPE, Fall protection, etc.
- Must follow all parts inventory guidelines. This includes assisting to keep all parts storage areas in order.
- Must lead by following all procedures and take ownership for maintenance PM/DM software, having WOR’s for jobs worked on, completing and closing out of these WOR’s, including parts used.
- The incumbent helps provide a safe work place by assisting in developing, promoting and following practices which prevent injury and meet legal safety requirements.
- Follow all food safety guidelines while on the manufacturing floor.
- Report any deviation from food safety protocol to the functional responsible personnel.
- The incumbent will be responsible for working with other departments to schedule all PM’s in the factory (production equipment, facilities, medical device equipment, support equipment), excluding mold PM’s. They will be responsible for communicating this PM schedule with other departments and scheduler. Making sure that any deviations from the schedule are followed up with a completed deviation form.
- Responsible for training the PM team members on all new procedures or changes to PM activities.
- Responsible for maintenance/monitoring the water treatment systems in all the plants. Also must work closely with other departments to root-cause and resolve any water treatment related issues.
- Continuous Improvement – This person must have a desire for CI and be able to work with other departments/teams on CI projects. This will include taking a lead role on predictive maintenance activities and be the SPA/Champion on conditional monitoring (vibration analysis, thermal analysis, etc.)
Qualifications
EDUCATIONAL AND OTHER SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- High school and/or technical background with the ability to understand blueprints, and apply math to develop skills in problem solving techniques. Root cause analysis, decision making through the analysis of data is applicable.
- Minimum of six years’ experience from on-the-job training programs and maintenance experience is required. High degree of understanding in the injection molding process along with all of its support equipment i.e., AEC’s, loaders, ohmites, chillers, conveyors, etc, and the use of tools and devises used to repair and maintain equipment and facilities.
- Must have a high level of understanding and troubleshooting knowledge of closure manufacturing and support equipment, i.e., liners, assemblies, scorers, inspection cameras, palletizer, etc.
- Must have a strong knowledge of electrical and hydraulic principles. Capable of troubleshooting and the repair of all manufacturing machinery.
- Must have a very strong knowledge of inventory control; print reading – mechanical, electrical and hydraulic.
- Must have a strong knowledge of mechanical principles, plus the knowledge to visualize arrangement and relationships between static or moving parts, and assemblies represented in blueprints and diagrams.
- Must have good communication skills to train others on maintenance processes, technology, and procedures.
- A strong working knowledge of test and measurement equipment, i.e., volt meters, amp meters, thermocouple calibration unit, micrometers, calipers, scales, levels, etc.
- Must be able to work in a team oriented environment in order to keep a good working relationship with others.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
1. Ability to standing, bending, walking, twisting, squatting, kneeling, pushing, pulling, crawling, balancing, reaching overhead.
2. Lifting and carrying 50 lbs required.
3. Ability to push/pull 50 lbs.
4. Ability to ascend/decent ladders and stairs.
5. Ability to use and work near power tools, manufacturing equipment, utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
6. Ability to stand for a sustained period of time throughout a 8 hour workday.
7. Regular and reliable attendance and punctuality.
8. Ability to engage in rotating shift work, i.e. nights to days.
9. Eye-hand coordination, manual and finger dexterity
WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT
The manufacturing work environment includes exposure to: Operating machinery, constant noise, grease, dirt or oil. Constant exposure to moving parts and equipment requires high degree of caution and safety to avoid minor or serious injury. Temperature regulated work environment.
