Description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform equipment preventative maintenance and lube inspections on all machinery and support equipment; assists with machine rebuilds/modifications and fabrications; operates equipment to test functioning and detection of machine conditions that would affect safety or quality.
- Follow all procedures and SOP’s for the facility i.e., LTTV, SOP’S, PPE, Fall protection, etc..
- Be aware of hazardous materials in the area and the proper handling of hazardous materials. Awareness will be achieved through training, MSDS review, safety meetings, and toolbox meetings.
- Be aware of, understand, and follow emergency procedures.
- Report all spills or other environmental incidents following EHS protocol.
- Must follow all rules and comply with mandatory Job-Obs, IFE’s, IFO’s, Walkabouts, Monday Reports, Quality training, monthly awareness training and any required departmental training/projects on time without supervision.
- Work in such a manner as to prevent environmental incidents and if asked, to participate in investigations of environmental incidents.
- Ensure correct components are available to complete PM’s per the PM Master schedule.
- Cope with unforeseen situations, i.e., problems with process, machine speeds, reoccurring defects, detection/correction of unsafe conditions, and detection/correction of machinery problem issues.
- Assist with machine rebuilds/modifications and fabrication of all types; also support all departments, i.e., production, engineering, tool room, warehouse, and EHS.
- Maintain a clean, safe and orderly working area and be accountable for your designated area of 5’s.
- Operate equipment to test its functioning and overall performance.
- Assist in assigned projects. This would include all aspects of a new project, i.e. placement, installation, fabrication and assembly of all associated equipment that may come with any project. This could also include working over and beyond a normal work day when needed.
- Operate hand tools and power tools, as needed for repairs and troubleshooting. Read gauges and information on computer screens to diagnose equipment performance issues.
- Be alert to and welcome new learning opportunities. Always try to increase education/training.
- Must follow all parts inventory guidelines. This includes assisting to keep all parts storage areas in order.
- Must follow all procedures and take full ownership for maintenance PM/DM software and schedule. This includes demanding WOR’s for jobs worked on, completing and closing out of these WOR’s (that do not include parts). Must turn in all other WOR’s that did require parts to tool crib attendant.
- Must follow all daily checklist guidelines and have a working knowledge of lubrication requirements as they pertain to equipment specifications.
- Follow GMP rules.
- Report oil, grease or water leaks to supervisor or technicians.
- Ensure line is clean and free from dust accumulation.
- Ensure leaks are properly collected.
- Identify production lots for traceability purposes.
- Fill out cleaning schedule.
- Report any conditions which could compromise food safety.
- Use only approved chemicals to be used on the floor.
- Do not put any item involved in product realization on the floor.
- Manage Critical Control Points where applicable.
- Report upset conditions.
- Enter data and provide paperwork required to maintain an efficient maintenance system.
- Minimize waste and prevent pollution to protect the environment.
- Perform duties in an efficient manner without damage to company equipment and furnishings.
- Constantly monitor & follow standard housekeeping procedures - Keep work area clean.
- Perform assignments according to standards-stay in assigned work area.
- Follow work instructions and provide/receive constructive feedback from others.
- Use spare time and clean up time constructively to keep tools and equipment in good condition.
- Promote teamwork with all other employees and departments.
- Follow all food safety guidelines while on the manufacturing floor.
- Report any deviation from food safety protocol to the functional responsible personnel.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years maintenance experience strongly preferred.
- You should not have level above “Written Warning” within last 12 months to be considered.
