Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead efforts to continuously improve manufacturing processes by documenting process characteristics in terms of quality and performance measurements, identifying and eliminating bottleneck areas.
  • Develop, maintain, and analyze the manufacturing process and quality data systems.
  • Develop, implement, provide training, and maintain the facilities vision systems for improving customer satisfaction and process performance.
  • Provide engineering solutions to process problems identified through the customer satisfaction and process performance measurement systems.
  • Lead and support efforts to establish and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and Best Practices around manufacturing practices, which should include interaction with counterparts in other OFC’s.
  • Design, document, troubleshoot, and lead the launch of new products while utilizing the MLR process to optimize project startups.
  • Lead and support efforts to establish a new level of communication and understanding between the Quality department and its internal customers within the organization.
  • Lead efforts to identify and solve safety concerns encountered during the design and study of manufacturing processes.
  • Train the facility resources in the proper use of problem solving and quality tools.
  • Assist in the development of the predictive maintenance program with the primary focus involving the optimization of the Plant’s vision systems.
  • Attend the Lean Daily Management OPEX meeting and provide updates on the progress of key Plant initiatives.

Qualifications

EDUCATIONAL AND OTHER SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience. 5+ years working in process improvement in a manufacturing environment.
  • Industrial Engineering techniques such as, but not limited to, Process Flow Design, 6 Sigma, 5Y, Fishbone Diagrams, FMEA, Time Study, Poke Yoke, etc.
  • Computer experience using Windows based software
  • Excellent writing and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of proper team building techniques, for example
  • Lead using logic and reasoning to clarify goals, examine assumptions, and identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions.
  • This is a role that will work directly with hourly machine operators, the Maintenance and Engineering groups, and Continuous Improvement.
  • Ability to direct CSI operations, quality department, engineering team, contractors and vendors to complete project requirements on time and effectively.
  • Good understanding and interpretation of the maintenance departmental budget.

Work Schedule: 8-hour days, with occasional after-hours work

PPE: ANSI Z41 approved safety shoes, hearing and eye protection as appropriate for work area, gloves according to work task, and other PPE as assigned and required

Tools and Equipment: Various writing utensils, radios, phone, computer, printers, fax machines, calculators, various computer and engineering software required for specific roles.
