The position of Bench/ Deburr will be responsible for performing complex, repetitive deburring operations, interpreting blueprints and drawings, setting up and operating all deburring equipment and hand tools, polishing and cleaning parts, inspecting deburred parts, using material handling equipment and performing assembly operations.

Essential Functions

  1. Interprets complicated aerospace drawings and specifications.
  2. Uses various types of benching equipment, machine tools, precision measurement tools, and various hand tools.
  3. Ability to polish, clean, break edges and produce a matte finish on precision machined parts made of a variety of materials to specified requirements and tolerances.
  4. Deburr and clean (smooth) manufacturing components or products for safety, visual and functional purposes using a variety of tools (including a bore scope, angle hole machines, drill presses, and hand grinders) and procedures.
  5. Deburr and hand finish parts as required by specifications by using established procedures, machines, and tooling.
  6. Performs rework assignments as required
  7. Ability to use a wide variety of basic deburr and hand finish tools, both electric and pneumatic such as (right angle grinder, die grinder, orbital sanders and other hand finishing tools and equipment).
  8. May perform other duties as assigned, including performing secondary operations on various components, washing components, moving material throughout the plant, loading and unloading various machines, and operating the band saw.
  9. Positions parts and sub assemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
  10. Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements

Qualifications and Skills

  1. Ability to understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved oral or written instructions.
  2. Set up and operate band saws, milling machines, lathes, surface grinders, hoist/crane equipment, etc.
  3. Knowledge in use of hand tools (drill motors, grinders, basic measurement Instruments, etc.)
  4. Ability to lift and carry objects weighing from 15 to 50 pounds.

Preferred:

  1. High school diploma
  2. Five years’ experience as Bench/Deburr; including prior experience in Aerospace/Manufacturing setting.

Special Requirements and Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) Requirements:

1. Safety glasses required when in manufacturing environment.

2. Hearing protection as needed.

Work Conditions

1. Hours outside of a normal working day may be required to meet project deadlines or ability to work overtime to support production demand.

2. Sitting for extended periods of time.

3. Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other devices.

4. Ability to work onsite, in a non-remote setting.

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience.

Salary Description
$20.00 - $30.00/hr.
