At Torngat Metals, we are developing the Strange Lake project to meet the urgent global demand for responsibly sourced rare earths that are essential to the energy transition. We are currently seeking talented individuals who are eager to contribute to our highly strategic project and play a role in shaping a resilient and responsible rare earth industry in Canada.

Torngat Metals is seeking a qualified Environmental Technician to support environmental characterization programs and field monitoring activities. Reporting to the Director, Environment and HSE, this role is responsible for supporting the collection of key environmental data used to assess and minimize the project’s environmental impacts. This position plays a central role in scientific decision-making and environmental performance and will evolve as the project advances into operations.

  • Environmental performance of the project
  • Regulatory compliance
  • Scientific and data-driven decision-making


What You’ll Do:

  • Participate in field campaigns (water, soil, biodiversity, vegetation)
  • Collect, record, and validate environmental data according to established protocols
  • Support environmental impact studies and monitoring programs
  • Operate and maintain sampling and measurement equipment
  • Ensure data quality, accuracy, and traceability
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary experts (biologists, geologists, engineers)
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of environmental practices

  • Training in environmental science, biology, geography, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
