At Torngat Metals, we are developing the Strange Lake project to meet the urgent global demand for responsibly sourced rare earths that are essential to the energy transition. We are currently seeking talented individuals who are eager to contribute to our highly strategic project and play a role in shaping a resilient and responsible rare earth industry in Canada.
Torngat Metals is seeking a qualified Archaeology Technician to participate in archaeological excavation campaigns at the Strange Lake project site. Reporting to the Director, Environment and HSE, this role contributes to the protection and preservation of cultural heritage in collaboration with Indigenous communities. This position is directly aligned with the company’s commitment to heritage preservation and respect for the land.

Role Impact:
This position is at the core of our environmental and social commitments and directly contributes to:
- Protection of biodiversity, including key species such as caribou
- Operational safety
- Integration of Indigenous knowledge
What You’ll Do:
- Participate in archaeological field excavation activities
- Assist in the identification, handling, and recording of artifacts
- Document field observations and contribute to site surveys
- Apply archaeological and regulatory protocols
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and community representatives
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
What We’re Looking For:
- Training or interest in archaeology, history, or cultural heritage
- Interest in fieldwork and remote camp environments
- Strong attention to detail and documentation rigor
- Physical ability to work in outdoor and uneven terrain conditions
- Cultural openness and ability to work collaboratively with Indigenous communities
