Position Overview

The Configuration Control Administrator is responsible for administering configuration management (CM) activities and processes to ensure consistency, accuracy, and integrity of complex systems and engineering processes. This role safeguards against risks such as data corruption or loss by managing changes to engineering and business documentation, maintaining product lifecycle workflows, and ensuring adherence to CM requirements. The position owns the configuration, customization, and process governance of the Aras PLM application, while also managing Oracle item master data and related manufacturing change processes. Attend daily stand-up activities and provide updates as required.

Responsibilities

  • Configuration Management & Change Control
    • Establish, document, and enforce CM processes, ensuring adherence to SubCom quality and business requirements.
    • Manage and coordinate the Engineering Change Request (ECR) and Engineering Change Notification (ECN) processes.
    • Maintain accurate lifecycle documentation (requirements, design, test, and acceptance) consistent with physical configurations.
    • Provide visibility and control of performance, functional, and physical attributes throughout the system, process, or product lifecycle.
  • Aras PLM Administration
    • Serve as the owner of lifecycle workflows for ECRs, ECNs, parts, documents, and Quality Management Systems.
    • Develop and maintain forms, templates, and process documentation within Aras to meet evolving business needs.
    • Manage Aras updates, customizations, and regression testing, tracking results to ensure stability and mistake-proofing.
    • Maintain enhancement lists and work to eliminate data silos by improving cross-module data relationships.
    • Train business users in PLM processes, templates, and release elements.
  • Oracle Administration
    • Develop and maintain Oracle Item Master Templates for all inventory organizations.
    • Administer BOM and assembly route changes in accordance with Engineering Change Orders.
    • Ensure accurate integration and mapping of item attributes between Oracle and Aras.
    • Apply basic ERP, inventory control, and material transaction principles to maintain accurate records.
  • Process Development & Documentation
    • Create and maintain Configuration Management department documentation outlining roles, responsibilities, and release processes.
    • Ensure all changes to Aras PLM are performed with management approval and documented according to standards.
    • Facilitate changes to improve performance, reliability, maintainability, or cost-effectiveness while reducing risk and liability.
    • Creation of project charters and perform project charter updates in accordance with time schedules

Qualifications

  • Education & Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, or related field preferred.
    • 5+ years of experience in configuration management, PLM administration, or related engineering support roles.
    • Hands-on experience with Aras Innovator PLM and Oracle ERP systems.
  • Skills & Knowledge:
    • Strong understanding of configuration management principles and standards.
    • Knowledge of engineering documentation control processes and change management methodologies.
    • Familiarity with ERP principles, including materials, resources, and cost structures.
    • Ability to develop workflows, forms, and process documentation in PLM systems.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Additional Competencies:
    • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
    • Effective communication and training delivery skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
