Position Overview
Mechanical engineering intern will report to a senior member of the mechanical engineering team on the R&D team and will assist with current projects.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with the design, analysis, build, and/or test of projects for the R&D team
- This position will provide an opportunity for a prospective engineer to experience working on real, open ended problems in an R&D environment. Experience with the entire design process from ideation thru prototype and test is often the standard and can include 3D modeling, finite element analysis, fabrication, and design of experiments.

- CAD experience
- Basic drafting and understanding machine design
- Bonus
- FEA experience (structural or thermal)
- Fabrication experience
- Design for manufacturability experience
- Automation and controls experience
- opto-mechanical/optics experience
- One year of engineering classes with focus on mechanical
- Independently driven
- Strong desire to learn new things and enjoys researching the answer
- Interest in communications industry and/or working with established technology
