Position Overview:

A Quality Specialist III will be assigned to the following areas: Optical Products and Systems (OPS), or Optical Sub Assemblies (OSA). Within the role, the Quality Specialist analyzes documentation and determines compliance and performs statistical process evaluations. This position requires strong attention to detail, strong decision-making skills as well as the ability to work independently

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • * Analyzes product documentation, both written and through database tools, to determine compliance to customer specifications via multiple support tools
  • *Performs statistical process evaluations based upon department requests
  • *Interfaces with manufacturing, management, and customer representatives professionally and respectfully
  • *Follows verbal and written instruction, accepts increased responsibility and is accountable for his/her actions
  • Audits the work of others in a professional manner
  • Possesses a quality conscious awareness and assists in updating department documentation
  • *Adheres to the safety and quality standards (goals and metrics) of the organization while working within a team environment
  • Promotes job and process improvement as it relates to the department (through Lean Manufacturing as well as other improvement initiatives
  • Responds to multiple production assignments in a timely and efficient manner
  • Meets required training criteria such as IPC-610 and JSTD when requested
  • Overtime may be required, based on business need; regular attendance required
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency required.
  • Ability to perform statistical analysis and functions.
  • Efficiently use precision measuring and evaluation equipment, including but not limited to tape measures, calipers, and micrometers, microscopes.
  • Proficient computer skills, including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Possess the mathematical skills required to work with conversion factors, formulas and other related functions.
  • Proficient verbal and written skills which allow for accurate explanations of all situations you are responsible to manage.
  • Must have the flexibility to respond to multiple assignments.
  • Ability to work any shift, including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to learn database tools and become productive within prescribed period.
  • Ability to speak, read and write English with technical proficiency.
