Position Summary: We are seeking a results-driven Commercial/SLED Sales Leader located in either the New England or Texas market(s) to oversee and drive the performance of the commercial/SLED sales team. This role is responsible for achieving revenue targets, coaching team members, and developing effective sales strategies to grow the business. The ideal candidate combines strong leadership skills with a proven sales track record.
Primary Position Tasks:
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of Account Executives to achieve and exceed targets
- Set clear sales goals, KPIs, and performance expectations
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to drive revenue growth
- Manage key accounts and support the team in closing high-value deals
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching and feedback
- Collaborate with marketing and product teams to align on campaigns and offerings
- Recruit, onboard, and train new sales team members
- Ensure consistent use of CRM tools
- Detailed understanding of the commercial/SLED marketplace, along with the business acumen to solve customer problems
- Actively engaged and monitoring of pipeline development, opportunity management/forecasting and demand generation
- Proactively monitor and maintain high levels of quality, accuracy, and process consistency in the sales organization’s planning efforts.
- Works closely with sales management peers to inspect sales process quality and prioritize opportunities for improvement. Assists in understanding process bottlenecks and inconsistencies.
- Facilitates an organization of continuous process improvement to drive sales and revenue growth and exceed customer satisfaction expectations
Minimum Education/Certification/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience in sales, with a proven track record of meeting quotas
- 2+ years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role
Preferred Education/Certification/Experience:
- Strong knowledge of sales processes, pipeline management, and forecasting
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Experience using CRM software and sales analytics tools
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated experience in the full lifecycle of personnel management
- Demonstrated ability to put together compressive account plans and strategy
- Demonstrated ability to sell professional and managed services
- Ability to cultivate C-level relationships and understand underlying business drivers
- Ability to capture large multi-year IT annuity contracts
- Familiar with existing industry CRM applications
- Familiar with OEM business processes negotiating discount structures
- Ability to demonstrate strong presentation skills and lead customer facing meetings
- The ability to work effectively with or without dedicated management/mentor supervision
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with vendors and customers in a professional and timely manner
- Sufficient phone skills as defined by, active listening skills, using the open-ended question technique, courteous and conscientious mannerisms and technically literate language so as to support successful cold and warm calls
- Sufficient writing skills, demonstrated by the correct use of grammar, professional communication style and technically literate language so as to support successful e-mail introductions to customers, vendors and OEM counterparts
- Demonstrated success in multi tasked, high volume sales role as defined by accuracy, response rate and understanding of customer requirements
