Job Title: Security Engineer
Location: Hybrid/On-site
Job Summary:
Red River Technology is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Engineer to design, implement, and maintain robust security solutions for our government customer's information systems. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of security technologies, protocols, and compliance frameworks, as well as the ability to assess vulnerabilities and deliver effective security solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform security assessments to identify risks and vulnerabilities across networks, systems, and applications.
  • Design, implement, and test comprehensive security solutions to protect sensitive data and systems, ensuring alignment with FedRAMP High, NIST 800-53 Rev 4/5 controls.
  • Configure and integrate security tools and processes, including identity management, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and multi-factor authentication (MFA).
  • Develop and deploy security incident detection and response capabilities, vulnerability scanning, and compliance verification.
  • Document security configurations, incidents, and security controls, supporting continuous monitoring, reporting, and alerting.
  • Collaborate with O&M management, PMO, and architects to plan and implement security solutions in support of program execution and change requests.
  • Contribute to disaster recovery solutions and assist with security compliance training and documentation.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in security engineering.
  • Proficiency in network protocols, security technologies (firewalls, SIEM, encryption), and scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash).
  • Experience with DevSecOps, vulnerability scanning, and security patching.
  • Knowledge of security standards (NIST, STIG, CVE, OWASP) and automation tools (GitLab, Terraform, Ansible).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Certifications:

  • Required: CISSP
  • Desirable: Additional certifications in relevant technologies or security disciplines.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in technology or related field preferred.

This role requires strong collaboration, problem-solving, and the ability to proactively address security challenges in dynamic environments.
