Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) Engineer
Location: Hybrid (On-site and remote work available)
Job Overview:
Red River Technology is seeking an experienced Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) Engineer to join our team in support of an IRS program. This role is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of infrastructure components using declarative code files within an open standards-based IaC framework. You will automate infrastructure deployment and management processes, ensuring compliance, scalability, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain IaC scripts for automated infrastructure deployment and management.
  • Automate configuration management, container orchestration, environment provisioning, and IaC validation.
  • Support deployment processes, backup/archiving, and version alignment in multi-region cloud environments.
  • Develop and document deployment playbooks, runbooks, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Provide IaC tooling support in accordance with IRS Enterprise Standards Profile (ESP).
  • Train teams in IaC development, pipeline management, and automated testing.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).
  • Proficiency in DevOps/DevSecOps, including CI/CD, automation tools (Terraform, GitLab, Ansible), and container orchestration.
  • Expertise in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell) and tools for IaC execution and monitoring.
  • Experience with security scanning, code optimization, and performance monitoring.
  • Familiarity with cloud frameworks, RedHat Enterprise Linux, Windows Server, and network configurations (IPv4, IPv6).
  • Knowledge of software and OS hardening best practices (OWASP, CERT, STIG).

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Strong background in infrastructure automation and configuration management.
  • Familiarity with Test-Driven Development (TDD), robotic process automation (RPA), and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD).
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases, and additional DevOps tools.
  • Mentoring and training experience.
  • Certifications in relevant technologies (Terraform, GitLab, DevOps).
