Job Description

The Regional Maintenance Planner and Scheduler is a critical role within the Maintenance organization that, manages, creates, updates, and maintains the Maintenance schedule and plan for general Maintenance and Turnarounds at several locations. This role also includes supervising certain aspects of the turnarounds and maintenance teams to execute the schedule. To create the schedule and plans, the Planner collects, organizes, and documents the work order steps with resources, tools, and materials to execute maintenance scope of work safely and effectively.

The Regional Maintenance Planner plans and directs employee schedules to provide on time completion of work. The planner facilitates maintenance productivity (ability to schedule effectively, quality of workmanship, utilization of labor, materials, and services) to ensure safe and quality work execution through clear Work Order development. The Regional Maintenance Planner utilizes current knowledge/documentation and improves documentation for future use.

Qualifications

Facilitate, Lead, and Supervise the maintenance organization activities as related to the Work Management Process

  • Planning – Align with Maintenance Coordinator, Maintenance Supervisor and regional resources on work scope and priority to propose job plans, required materials and services vs. availability to meet production schedule and achieve agreement on schedule adjustment or expediting options. Train regional maintenance staff on use of CMMS. Develop job plans for critical maintenance work in the region.
  • Preparation – Track services, special tool availability and materials to facilitate safe and effective maintenance work execution. Integrate material procurement into production schedule.
  • Coordination – Coordinate and communicate the details of materials, services, and tools to optimize the Plan Execution phase across the Midwest region. Engage with Engineering resources to accomplish project planning goals. Lead weekly Maintenance/Operations planning meeting and backfill R&M Multi-Site Leader as needed. Utilize contract resources to prepare job plans.
  • Accomplishment – Facilitate alignment on questions and concerns around the plan (example- procedure, material, and special tool concerns) Supervise the execution of work per prescribed plan.
  • Documentation – Collect documentation improvement opportunities for review and approval with the Reliability Improvement Team and facilitate the unused material return process.

Support the Reliability Management Process through continuous improvement of asset Master Data quality and documentation.

  • For existing equipment, initiate updates, or creation of documentation (Master Data, Procedures, P&IDs, etc.) based on gaps identified from planning and execution of work orders.
  • For new equipment, audit project documentation packages for completeness and ensure that they meet appropriate standards for documentation and master data.
  • Recommend upgrades to master data and documentation standards.
