Fabrication Technician Summary: Assists with ensuring tasks are performed within budget and schedule. Provides technical guidance as needed.
Responsibilities
- Support the Fabrication department by performing the technical duties associated with fabrication and assembly tasks including handwork, fit and finish.
- Verify conformance of finished assembly to specified tolerances, blueprint specifications, and other required specifications with various measurement tools, including, but not limited to, calipers, scales, micrometers, and gauges
- Interpret, select, adopt and apply appropriate guidelines, procedures, and practices which relate to appropriate assemblies, disassembles and component rework or repair
- Highlights issues and concerns early with the Fabrication Supervisor to be able to resolve effectively to achieve task, program and company objectives
Preferred Education / Experience:
- Associates Degree;
- 3+ years of related discipline; or
- A combination of education and experience equivalent to above
Preferred Knowledge / Ability:
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings and documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- May be required to travel up to 10% of the time
- Demonstrated knowledge of fabrication procedures, special materials & tools, and Foreign Object Detection (FOD) prevention
- Troubleshooting mechanical or electrical problems
