The Operations Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and scheduling all work across the operations organization, aligning activities with available resources to develop and maintain a comprehensive master schedule with committed lead times. This role monitors progress against the master schedule on a daily basis and communicates status updates, risks, and any required changes.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce and maintain a resourced schedule of all the work within operations organization. Highlighting operation timelines, resources and priorities. Presenting said schedule to all levels within the function and other interested parties
  • Work with shop supervision and the production planning organization to understand timelines, machine allocation and machine availability to feed the master schedule.
  • Work with shop supervision and the production planning organization to track progress to the master schedule daily, revise as needed based on data obtained.
  • Report to the VP of Operations on the progress to plan, highlighting issues, concerns and risks. Elevate critical issues.
  • Partners with the Vice President of Operations and cross-functional team members to conduct “what-if” scenario analyses based on the schedule, evaluating machine allocation and identifying potential outsourcing needs.

Preferred Education / Experience:

  • Certified apprenticeship program or equivalent
  • 4+ years related job experience
  • A combination of education and experience equivalent to above

Preferred Knowledge / Ability:

  • Must be a self-starter, able to work on multiple projects, and prioritize own workload
  • Grounded knowledge of manufacturing operations
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Project and Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communications.
