Overall Summary:

The Facilities Maintenance Coordinator supports the maintenance team. They maintain and repair buildings, grounds, and plant equipment.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Perform basic carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical, painting, janitorial work, and equipment maintenance.

  • Install, move, and remove company equipment and furniture.

  • Maintain effective relationships with outside building contractors

  • Recommend and maintain tools, parts, and supplies.

  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.

  • Perform other (or other related) duties as applicable or assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities/Competencies:

  • Ability to read and write basic English.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to multi-task and make effective decisions.

  • Strong mechanical, electrical, mathematical, and analytical skills.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • 2+ years’ maintenance experience in the facilities, property management, hotel, or apartment industry including plumbing and electrical repair, carpentry.

  • Experience in heat pumps, filtration, flooring, locks, door hardware, security systems, roofing, lighting, cooling towers, chemical water treatment, lawn care, snow removal.

  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, sketches, OEM instructions, and specifications.

  • HVAC experience and/or engineer boiler license preferred.

  • Previous participation on a safety team and/or other safety training a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, bend, and stoop for up to 8 hours.

  • Flexibility to work additional hours as necessary.

  • Ability to work in outdoor climates.

  • Ability to lift, carry and push/pull up to 70 pounds, occasionally.

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, pivot, crouch, squat, kneel, and stoop for up to 8 hours.

  • Sensory requirements: vision, hearing, feeling.

  • Upper extremity motion requirements: fine motor movements, pushing/pulling with arms, grasping and pinching.

Salary:
The starting hourly range for this position is $20.00-$27.00/hr.

At IWCO, base pay is determined by job-related knowledge, skills, credentials, and experience, along with factors such as role scope and location.
