Signal Integrity EngineerIsola, an industry leader in global materials sciences whose mission is to improve life by enabling innovation in electronic products, is hiring a Signal Integrity Engineer at our Chandler, AZ Location. THE ROLEThe Signal Integrity Engineer is a critical part of Isola’s R&D team and will be developing testing methodologies, completing electrical characterization of innovative new products and state of the are technologies. This role will work closely with the Lead Signal Integrity Engineer and will be a great opportunity to develop world-class capabilities in addition to delivering critical information and technology to Isola. A collaborator, you love to partner with others in your work and prefer to drive the group to a decision.As a problem solver, you ask the right questions to uncover the root cause and quickly iterate to a final, well-thought-out result.An efficient worker, you enjoy having multiple priorities at one time and multitasking TOP RESPONSIBILITIES Measure the scattering parameters of test coupons using 70GHz VNAs and 110GHz broadband set. Extract the propagation properties of the materials under test using extraction and de-embedding algorithms.Follow calibration and test procedures to assure good quality measurementsPerform testing on multiple samples data and check the quality of data.Research documentation and instructions for further improvement of the test methods and test processes. Perform statistical analysis to describe variability in the results and find patterns.Document test data for all measurement projectsRun Dk/Df test methods such as FPOR (Farby-Perot Open Resonator)Conduct correlation studies and geometry correction using HFSS and Simbeor.Report test and modeling results to Signal Integrity Engineers for further analysisMaintain Isola material databasePerform measurements on multiple material types to create Isola databaseWrite final report and give presentationDevelop scripts to help process and debug collected data using Python and Matlab. QUALIFICATIONS Master’s in electrical engineering Strong background in Electromagnetic theory and wave propagation. Excellent understanding of Transmission Line theories and design for high speed application. Experience in high frequency testing equipment; VNA, Oscilloscopes, TDR measurement.Have the ability to run simulation using HFSS and/or SimbeorAbility to conduct basic statistical analysisFamiliar with PCB design tool such as KiCad and gerber files.Ability to write scripts using Python and MatlabFlexible work scheduleAbility to plan and execute projectsAbility to work with minimal directionDesire to implement new testing methodologyDemonstrated technical report writing skillsAbility to take direction and absorb information quicklyExcellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to collaborate with colleagues in a cross-cultural environmentAble to stand and work on the shop floor for extended periods.
