The Role: The Materials Planning Coordinator I serves as a bridge between logistics operations and production planning. This developmental role supports both daily shipping/receiving functions and capacity planning activities. The incumbent ensures timely and accurate movement of materials through the plant while assisting in capacity and production forecasting to optimize resources and meet customer demands.
Compensation: $22.50 per hour
Key Responsibilities
Shipping and Receiving Functions (Operational 50%)
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials and supplies for accuracy and quality.
- Prepare, package, and document outgoing shipments in accordance with company and carrier standards.
- Maintain accurate inventory and shipping records; reconcile discrepancies in material movement or order fulfillment.
- Collaborate with production and warehouse staff to coordinate efficient material flow and reduce bottlenecks.
Capacity and Planning Functions (Analytical 50%)
- Collect, review, and analyze production and capacity data to identify trends, variances, and potential constraints.
- Support the preparation of short-term capacity forecasts and material availability plans.
- Assist with coordination between manufacturing, sales, and procurement to align resource levels with demand.
- Generate basic reports and visualizations that highlight utilization, throughput, and performance metrics.
Developmental Focus:
This is a pipeline position designed to develop future planning and logistics professionals. Employees in this role will gain foundational experience in:

Qualifications
- Prior machine operating experience- required
- Previous experience with work instructions, work orders, and ERP systems-preferred
- Ability to work in safety-sensitive environment- required
- Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and background report.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred (Business, Supply Chain, or Operations).
- 2+ years of experience in shipping, receiving inventory control, or production support.
- Basic knowledge of production scheduling or capacity planning concepts is desirable.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS
- In this role you maybe be required to stand up to 10 hours per shift and with frequent bending, reaching, and grasping. You will also need to lift, pull or push up to 50 pounds.
