Global Quality Director

THE ROLE
The Director, Global Quality provides strategic leadership to harmonize and strengthen Isola’s global quality systems across all manufacturing operations — including sites in the U.S., Germany, Taiwan, and China.
This role is responsible for defining and executing the enterprise-wide quality strategy, integrating supplier quality management, QMS governance, and continuous improvement across all regions. The Director partners closely with regional and plant leaders to align quality practices, systems, and metrics, ensuring consistent, world-class performance and customer satisfaction.
This position represents the global owner of Isola’s Quality Management System (QMS), Document Management System (DMS), and all global standard operating procedures (SOPs), audits, and compliance processes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Global Quality Leadership
- Refine and implement the global quality strategy, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives, customer requirements, and operational priorities across all regions.
- Lead and mentor regional and plant quality leaders to ensure consistent quality execution at plants in North America, Asia, and Europe.
- Harmonize global quality processes, methodologies, and metrics to create standardized global frameworks.
- Build and sustain communities of expertise that connect quality professionals across plants and regions for shared learning and innovation.
- Provide regular executive updates to the President and CEO on global quality performance, trends, and risks.
Quality Management Systems (QMS/DMS)
- Provide global oversight of the QMS and DMS, ensuring consistency and effectiveness across all six manufacturing sites.
- Establish governance for SOPs, policies, and document control systems, integrating plant-level processes into a unified structure.
- Lead global internal and external audit programs, ensuring compliance with international quality and regulatory standards.
- Drive digital transformation initiatives to modernize document control, reporting, and quality analytics.
Continuous Improvement & Problem Solving
- Strengthen the Corrective and Preventive Action process globally to drive rapid, systemic issue resolution.
- Promote structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, fishbone analysis, and root cause techniques to resolve critical customer and plant issues.
- Expand the use of statistical process control (SPC) and data-driven decision-making to monitor and improve process performance.
- Lead global initiatives, including Quality Month, to engage employees and reinforce a culture of quality and continuous improvement across all plants.
Customer Quality Management
- Serve as the global escalation point for complex customer quality issues.
- Lead or coordinate cross-regional investigations to resolve failures and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Build strong, trusted relationships with customer quality teams through proactive communication and strategic collaboration.
- Align plant-level practices with customer requirements to improve satisfaction, reduce defects, and increase reliability.
Supplier Quality Leadership
- Develop and implement global supplier quality standards with a focus on Asia suppliers, where the majority of key suppliers are located.
- Oversee supplier quality management
- Direct audits, performance reviews, and improvement plans to elevate supplier performance globally.
- Integrate quality requirements into supplier selection, onboarding, and ongoing evaluations.
- Partner with Supply Chain to align supplier relationships with corporate quality and compliance goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, or related technical field required.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in global quality management within a multi-site, international manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated success in leading supplier quality programs.
- Proven success in leading regional quality teams and aligning practices across diverse geographies and cultures.
- Expertise in supplier auditing and development, with a strong track record of building partnerships to enhance performance across global supply chains.
- Experience establishing systems for global best practice sharing and harmonization of processes across all major manufacturing regions.
- Up to 25% global travel, including:
- Frequent regional travel within Asia for plant and supplier visits.
- Periodic international travel to the U.S. and Europe for site visits, leadership meetings, and customer engagements.
