Laboratory Microsection Analyst Technician

6565 W Frye Rd, Chandler, AZ 85226, USA Req #50
Sunday, January 19, 2025

Isola, an industry leader in global materials sciences whose mission is to improve life by enabling innovation in electronic products, is hiring a Laboratory Microsection Analyst Technician at our Chandler, Arizona facility.

Schedule: 8a-4:30p M-F

Compensation: $24-$30 per hour

The Role

The Microsection Analyst Technician will perform micro-sectioning, a process to help inspect printed circuit boards (PCBs) and laminates for defects and understand what is going wrong inside the materials. Components are micro-sectioned after potting in an epoxy resin so that a microscopic examination can be undertaken for accurately locating, identifying, and characterizing all the internal structural features of the samples to judge any defects against the criteria of the specification. This process is critical to providing insight into material and processes, failure analysis, acceptance tests, electrical characterization, and evaluation/qualifications. Care needs to be taken so as not to induce false failures or defects through poor sample preparation. By analyzing individual micro-sections, the information provided can be used to prevent future failures and improve the quality of products.
