Job Summary:
The Press Expediter serves as a key support role within the Flexo department, ensuring presses have the materials, tooling, and resources needed to operate efficiently. This position is responsible for job staging, inventory organization, press-side support, and maintaining a clean and organized production environment to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.
SHIFT: Monday - Friday, 5:45am - 2:15pm
Job Description:
- Review job tickets to verify all required production components are available and ready for manufacturing.
- Ensure proofs, samples, and all supporting documentation are included with each job ticket.
- Inspect printing plates for flaws, damage, or any issues that could impact production quality.
- Pre-stage all materials and components required for production, including print cylinders, mounted plates, stock, inks, tooling, and any other job-specific requirements.
- Communicate staging status to supervisors and proactively identify missing materials or components that may impact production schedules.
- Assist press operators as needed after staging priorities have been completed to support production efficiency and maximize press uptime.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels and organized storage locations for production components, tooling, and consumable supplies.
- Return all production materials and components to their designated storage locations upon completion of each job.
- Maintain press-side organization and perform general housekeeping duties, including cleaning equipment, emptying waste containers, sweeping, and supporting overall plant cleanliness and safety.
- Advise supervisors when additional support is needed to maintain organization, inventory accuracy, or storage capacity.
- Respect and cooperate with coworkers, contributing to a positive team environment and assisting others in achieving departmental objectives.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes, workplace organization, and operational efficiency.
- Work overtime and temporarily adjust work schedules as required to support business needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OF POSITION
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One plus year previous pressroom experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS OF POSITION
- Previous Flexo experience
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Basic mathematics skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of whole numbers and fractions.
- Ability to communicate/understand written as well as oral instructions.
- Ability to work on complex jobs in a fast paced, quality focused environment.
- Ability to use problem-solving skills in producing jobs effectively.
- Reliability through attendance, punctuality, and attention to workstation.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 Pounds.
- Ability to visually inspect all work for defects and distinguish colors.
- Frequent reaching, bending, climbing, kneeling, crouching, and stooping.
- Manual dexterity for repetitive work.
- Frequent walking and standing.
