Job Summary:

The Digital Press Operator is responsible for all aspects of operating the digital printing equipment to production and quality standards. Presses that are included under “Digital Press”: Indigo, Wide Format, Dye Sublimation, Onset, Durst, Vutek, Spyder.

Second Shift: 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM

Job Description:

  • Operate digital print equipment and the software necessary for print operations.
  • Complete jobs according to customer specifications in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Monitor production output throughout the run for quality.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal printing conditions.
  • Ensure materials for the job are in stock and available for production.
  • Properly document production information to account for all labor and materials consumed on a job.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Properly execute pressroom Safety Procedures.
  • Act as a resource to Apprentice and Feeder.
  • Troubleshoot with the help of the Lead Operator.
  • Work overtime as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OF POSITION

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Mac and Windows operating systems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS OF POSITION

  • Previous print industry experience.
  • Experience using an ERP system.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to follow documented procedures.
  • Ability to read and understand oral/written instructions proficiently.
  • Ability to read and understand tape measure and other measuring equipment.
  • Math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions.
  • Reliability through attendance, punctuality, and attention to workstation.
  • Demonstrate a positive safety attitude.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequent walking and standing.
  • Manual dexterity for repetitive work.
  • Frequent reaching, bending, climbing, kneeling, crouching, and stooping.

  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to visually inspect all work for defects and distinguish color.

Salary Description
