SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The Regional Construction Manager oversees field teams focused on initial renovations and turns within their assigned region. This leader is responsible for ensuring cost controls, compliance, quality standards, and consistency of processes across all projects. The role also includes analyzing trends, monitoring KPIs, and implementing strategies to improve operational efficiency. The Regional Construction Manager will coach and develop team members, collaborate cross-functionally with other business units, and at times provide interim coverage for construction manager roles.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Consult with local markets to provide support and guidance regarding interpretation of policies and procedures; resolve escalated issues in collaboration with operations leaders.
  • Oversee acquisition and turnover pipeline, coordinating with district teams to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Manage and expand vendor pool to ensure capacity, quality, and performance.
  • Monitor, review, and manage budgets for assigned projects; submit and track change orders and variances.
  • Ensure adherence to cost controls, quality standards, and cycle-time targets.
  • Conduct operational and compliance audits, including QC inspections, utility tracking, dashboards, and lender requirements.
  • Oversee casualty loss, lender compliance, winterization, permits, code, and other construction-related compliance issues.
  • Reinforce compliance with established company policies and procedures; ensure follow-up and resolution of outstanding issues.
  • Conduct quarterly field audits and supplemental training for field staff.
  • Train, mentor, and coach construction managers, superintendents, and coordinators to drive performance and career growth.

Pilot and implement new initiatives in collaboration with the Sr. Director of Construction; support adoption of process improvements.

  • Communicate project updates, policies, and expectations to regional teams; ensure clarity and consistency across markets.

Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and new technologies to improve efficiency and scalability.

  • Ensure staffing levels support regional needs and targets.
  • Serve in a support role for the Sr. Director of Construction as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Indoor and outdoor work in all types of weather conditions.
  • May sit or stand for several hours at a time; climb up and down stairs multiple times each day; and lift to 50 lbs.
  • You must travel throughout the applicable markets about 50% of the time.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or Equivalence
  • Intermediate computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in construction or field management type role
  • Proven ability to manage and direct teams in disperse geographic locations to achieve organizational goals
  • Experience with project management, writing and evaluating project specifications and scopes of work
  • Knowledge of the property management cycle

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Architecture, Engineering or related field
  • Experience with residential maintenance or renovation
  • Experience using mobile construction technologies (Yardi Voyager, FotoNotes, RenoWalk or similar software)
  • Experience working in a fast pace, high-growth company
