SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Sr. Business Analyst, Data Integrity possesses a strong technical skillset balanced with high attention to detail and business aptitude to develop a strong understanding of FirstKey Homes’ data environment and reporting needs while fostering relationships between the Analytics team, the business leaders they support, and our partners in FP&A and IT.
They will act as the primary owner of technical metric definitions across all reporting, including operational dashboards and financial reporting, and will drive the development of a standardized data dictionary and consistent reporting practices. To achieve this result, this role will partner heavily with the reporting analysts supporting each department, as well as department leaders and FP&A partners, understanding the nuance of data across systems and communicating with stakeholders to drive alignment on the data inputs and definitions of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) across the business. The role will also learn to navigate our existing Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and work with IT partners to enhance the EDW to support reporting needs.
The desired candidate must exhibit strong prior experience and knowledge to navigate internal systems to compile and analyze data, interpret results, and assist with implementation of technical solutions. The candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth company that requires adaptability, collaboration and responding with a sense of urgency. The ability to develop and foster strong business partnering relationships across the company, as well as strong communication and presentation skills is critical to achieve success in this role.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
· Review and document the definitions and data sources of metrics in existing KPI reporting.
· Maintain technical documents relating to database mapping and processes to sufficiently explain how source system data is represented in reporting.
· Work with analysts and IT partners to understand and document the nuance of data pulled from various sources.
· Communicate data nuance and options for building metrics to business leaders and other stakeholders (FP&A, senior leadership) to drive alignment on go-forward metric calculations.
· Document metric data sources in new, official company data dictionary and work with analysts and FP&A to revise existing reporting to match definitions.
· Apply SQL knowledge to audit required datasets using existing Enterprise Data Warehouse data and coordinate with IT partners on any EDW updates required to support standardized metric reporting.
· Support efforts to minimize data entry errors that could skew reporting results, including leading development of data audit reporting and contacting business operators to fix errors.
· Learn and use Python code and advanced Microsoft Excel to support ad-hoc data modeling.
· Learn about P&L statements and how operational KPIs impact P&L results.
· Serve as thought leader for key business intelligence initiatives. Assist in conceptualizing and defining strategies as well as leading and coordinating efforts to operationalize concepts throughout the business.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Data Analytics, or Computer Science with equivalent work experience and/or education.
· Minimum 2 years’ experience in an analytically driven role, or advanced technical education with applicable experience.
· Advanced PowerPoint, Power BI, and Excel skills with focus on executive messaging.
· Advanced SQL proficiency.
· Detail-oriented with a commitment to operational excellence and quality.
· Experience with large datasets, recommending actions and synthetizing insights.
· Proven ability to manage data and extract exceptions for targeted performance management.
· Highly process oriented with passion to investigate root causes, driving process improvement, and enabling change management.
· Experience working within a multi-disciplined, cross-functional technical organization.
· Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to effectively influence staff at all levels.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· Experience working in property management, real estate or similar industry Experience working in a fast pace, high growth company.
· Familiar with HTML and/or JavaScript.
· Familiar with Azure services such as Microsoft Data Factory / Fabric, Data Lakes, or similar ETL.
· Comfort reviewing financial statements (P&L) and ability to tie operational KPIs to P&L outcomes.
· Experience with Python for data modeling.
