POSITION SUMMARY:

Work closely with the Director of FP&A to ensure accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting. This role will provide support to management through information analysis (e.g. actual performance vs. budget and prior year, forecasting, etc.) and preparation of operational data/analysis for publication to various constituents throughout company who rely on/benefit from the information to make informed business decisions.

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:

  • Analyze financial performance against key business metrics that will enable management to determine progress against budgets.
  • Prepare daily sales reporting across multiple business units during peak periods.
  • Prepare monthly analysis of cost of goods sold and operational expenses against prior year and budget.
  • Research and prepare variance analysis and explanations.
  • Routine communication with Supervisors relating to financial close, issues and deliverables.
  • Provides administrative support to finance and treasury, as needed.
  • Create weekly sales report until system automation is complete
  • All other duties as needed or required

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Data mining and report tool experience with is preferred, but not required (JD Edwards, AS400, NetSuite, Catalyst)
  • Advanced use of Microsoft Excel is required and essential to the role
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint required
  • Detail oriented with a knowledge of (GAAP) accounting procedures and financial report practices
  • Capable to safeguard sensitive and confidential information from intentional or unintentional disclosure
  • Composure to work independently and can interact with coworkers and management
  • Ability to organize and coordinate multiple tasks and to work under time pressure to meet deadlines

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting
  • Proven working experience as a Financial Analyst
  • Experience with financial modeling software and advanced statistical tools
